This contribution examines the various methods of persuing non-discrimination and compatibility of legal regulations among countries which undertake to open the markets to foreign exportes and service providers. The paper points out to the more extensive liberalisation and market opening within the EU in comparison with the WTO, due to the extensive reliance of the EU regulation of the internal market on armonisation and mutual recognition.
