A prerequisite for the success of a virtual organization is use of the technology that enables people to communicate and collaborate with one another across time, distance and organizational boundaries. In this chapter, we examine factors that motivate and enable members of the organization to use the ICT that underpins the virtual organization. The research was guided by Ajzen's theory of planned behavior (TPB). As proposed by the TPB, attitudes toward using the technology, social pressure for its use and control of use (in particular, ability to access the system remotely) all influenced whether staff used the technology. Perceived usefulness was an important factor.

Abstract
A prerequisite for the success of a virtual organization is use of the technology that enables people to communicate and collaborate with one another across time, distance and organizational boundaries. In this chapter, we examine factors that motivate and enable members of the organization to use the ICT that underpins the virtual organization. The research was guided by Ajzen's theory of planned behavior (TPB). As proposed by the TPB, attitudes toward using the technology, social pressure for its use and control of use (in particular, ability to access the system remotely) all influenced whether staff used the technology. Perceived usefulness was an important factor.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
