Protecting the environment by concretely conducting a fully sustainable, environmental business is possible not only with unilateral decisions by the employer in managing the business but also with the cooperation of the workers called to be active in this process. They shall be in the position of participating in the process, meaning that they must be entitled to rights and prerogatives to make their role effective. With this article, I would like to open a line of research – with no expectations of being exhaustive – on the ‘employee’s right to be trained’ by addressing the issue under the Italian legal system. I aim eventually to provide a possible answer to the given research question, which might be useful in extending the research to a more comparable level.
