This chapter examines the “administrative function” and related powers within the Italian legal system. It has two main themes. The first is the change of both legal realities and legal concepts concerning public functions and power, in view of the enormous growth of government which has characterized liberal democracies in Europe, especially after 1945. The second theme is how these functions and powers are regulated by the domestic legal system, under the influence of European law, in order to ensure the protection of both individual and collective interests.

Abstract
This chapter examines the “administrative function” and related powers within the Italian legal system. It has two main themes. The first is the change of both legal realities and legal concepts concerning public functions and power, in view of the enormous growth of government which has characterized liberal democracies in Europe, especially after 1945. The second theme is how these functions and powers are regulated by the domestic legal system, under the influence of European law, in order to ensure the protection of both individual and collective interests.File in questo prodotto:
