In this new emerging context, there are many dynamic changes to look at and be ready to face, and a strategic plan is fundamental to getting ahead. A bright future for retail banks will depend above all on taking today the right actions for a long profitability. These actions are based on developing and reinforcing customer trust and introducing innovative ways of featuring the changes needed in each company, apart from developing operational excellence and customer experience within every organization. In the light of the digital evolution retail banks seem, in particular, inevitably become victims of disintermediation as more activities become available online, and technology started breaking up value chains.
