Abstract

The parties to a contract are granted by European Private International Law the freedom to choose the law applicable to their agreement. A question arises, however, whether the perimeter of such freedom includes also model rules like the PECL, the DCFR, and the like. Furthermore, this work investigates the mandatory limits that the rules on consumer protection put to the choice of law.
