This chapter highlights the falls of previous public management theory and discusses potential pillars aimed at complementing existing new public governance theory with adequate contextual, strategic and managerial issues that might contribute to meeting the promise of public management initiatives. In particular it discusses how strategic orientation, coproduction, lean and marketing relations should be considered into new public governance theory in order to have a public-service dominant approach.
