I focus on the relation between logic and argumentation, starting from C. S. Peirce’s articulation of logic as the theory of the validity of arguments and rhetoric as the theory of the practical use of arguments. I claim that there is no tension between logic and rhetoric (or argumentation), since they are different but complementary aspects of the semiotic nature of mind and knowledge.

Abstract
I focus on the relation between logic and argumentation, starting from C. S. Peirce’s articulation of logic as the theory of the validity of arguments and rhetoric as the theory of the practical use of arguments. I claim that there is no tension between logic and rhetoric (or argumentation), since they are different but complementary aspects of the semiotic nature of mind and knowledge.File in questo prodotto:
