Abstract
Taking the occasion of commenting the article ‘An agent-based model of exaptative processes’ by D.LAne et al, the article draws a new parallel between cognitive and natural selection 'exaptation' processes, of the type outlined by Campbell for classic 'adaptation' processes. It is indicated >that the multifunctionality and multipurposedness of resources, actions and artifacts permit processes that are simultaneously more creative and less error prone than those traditionally envisaged, and therefore better able to model and sustain innovation in unstructured problems.File in questo prodotto:
