During the ‘30s American fascination with fascism was proven by the presence of several books and articles dedicated to the Italian corporatist experiment. Among them, the work of Carmen Haider represents an outstanding yet scarcely known observatory. Her profound knowledge of the Italian context, the development of fascist syndicalism and corporate state, in the end could offer an insight of the sincere curiosity showed out of the Italian borders for an alternative solution to 20th century socio-economic crisis, particularly the relation between capital and labor. Moreover, Haider’s opinion on fascism changes its course over few years because of her sharp understanding of its authoritarianism, properly considered inseparable from the corporative order in the making. This understanding made her a forerunner for the general American public opinion on fascism. Finally, retracing her complete opera could prove the transnational relevance of corporatism in the ‘30s and the main role played by it even in the American juridical debate over the transformation of constitutionalism and market regulation.

Abstract
Finally, retracing her complete opera could prove the transnational relevance of corporatism in the ‘30s and the main role played by it even in the American juridical debate over the transformation of constitutionalism and market regulation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
