El rol de las políticas urbanas en los próximos 20 años. Una perspectiva comparatista

The text examines, in a long-term perspective, the role that urban policies can play in the next 20 years. Although the subject is considered from a legal point of view, references to other disciplines are frequent (especially Engineering and Architecture). In particular, the profiles considered most interesting to observe the current dynamics are, on the one hand, those related to the policies adopted by the States, and by the European Union, in terms of land use and, on the other hand, those related to the development of the so-called smart city. Both profiles are presented in decidedly problematic and highly differentiated terms, according to the territorial context considered. The reflection ends with the formulation of some hypotheses about future scenarios.
