The paper is a comment to another paper published on the cost-efffectiveness analysis of the extended prophylaxix of venous thromboembolism with fondaparinux in patients undergoing major orthopaedic surgery. The comment points to some methodological challenges that were dealt with by the authors and that can make these types of study in pharmacoeconomics weak and less credibile than expected. More specifically, my comment stress the weaknesses of expert panel's opinions as well as the use of tariffs and charges instead of costs of services.

Abstract
The paper is a comment to another paper published on the cost-efffectiveness analysis of the extended prophylaxix of venous thromboembolism with fondaparinux in patients undergoing major orthopaedic surgery. The comment points to some methodological challenges that were dealt with by the authors and that can make these types of study in pharmacoeconomics weak and less credibile than expected. More specifically, my comment stress the weaknesses of expert panel's opinions as well as the use of tariffs and charges instead of costs of services.File in questo prodotto:
