This book collects the proceedings of the conference “National Judges and Supranational Laws, On the Effective Application of EU law and the ECHR” which was held at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies) Pisa on 15 and 16 of January. The conference celebrated the second anniversary of the STALS (Sant’Anna Legal Studies). The volume investigates the similarities and differences between national judicial treatment of the ECHR and EU laws. It examines whether or not national judges treat the ECHR and EU Law in the same manner and the extent to which they facilitate the convergence of these two laws. In this respect the goal of the project is to study the judicial application of ECHR and EU to analyse the vertical relationship between the national judges (both Constitutional and ordinary judges) and these forms of external laws. As such, we are not interested in the horizontal convergence between the European Court of Human Rights and the European Court of Justice. Rather, our investigation was limited to the vertical dimension of convergence.

Abstract
Rather, our investigation was limited to the vertical dimension of convergence.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
