This Chapter explores the characteristics of innovation activities and of the ‘new innovators’, defined here as those private and public organisations that starts to patent and innovate, in China, India, and Russia. It provides a picture of new innovators and the patterns of technological entry; the post-entry innovative behaviour of new firms and the technological value generated by the new firms, distinguishing the number of citations received by new entrants and incumbents. Then the chapter examines the cases of China, India and Russia. Finally, it draws some conclusions by highlighting similarities and differences behind the growth of knowledge intensive entrepreneurship in China, India and Russia.
