Web-enhanced learning (WEL) is differentiated from other approaches to online learning as on-campus learning supported by information and communications technology. A classification of nine approaches to web-enhanced learning is presented. The technology and skills required by students and teachers using each approach are discussed before considering future trends in the use of WEL.
